I would much rather read about a storm than triple murders, strife around the world, or the latest celebrity breakup.

It has been incredibly warm here in Wisconsin. Almost every day is above freezing. We got about an inch of snow yesterday, but most of this winter we were "snowless."

Maybe travel has something to do with it--I'm scheduled to go to Pittburgh this Thursday, so I'm a bit concerned over what the weather will do to airport schedules in that area.
DH says they're used to snow up there, and our hotel is right there at the airport, so we should be OK.
(I hope so)
If you haven't seen enough snow yet, here are some snow pictures from Austria. Parts of Austria - especially the provinces of Salzburg, Upper Austria and parts of Styria - are getting lost in the snow. People have to get the snow off the roofs before they collapse.
If you want to see the other pictures click on the red button called 'weiter' to see the next picture.
It's going to be fun once all this snow starts to melt.
Fantastic snow photos, Brigitte!
What does Betreten mean, when the sign says "Betreten Verboten"?

thank goodness we only got ten inches of snow and we only had to shovel the sidewalk and not the roof.....great pictures...makes you appreciate .............."we got snow"
Djsnjones- "betreten" means to "step on", so "Betreten Verboten" means "Keep off!"
Kathrine, -who is sick of winter! and the news-medias constant focus on one thing, here in Denmark the Muhammad-drawings that you've perhaps heard about?
I think it's funny that snow in the eastern US is the only snow that makes the news. I knew a gal from the east who moved where I live and said she was sick and tired of hearing about snow in the east. "You get more snow here, and it NEVER makes the news!" Other countries and states get more snow, but New England states are the only ones that seem to make the news!
My only theory is that the population density may have something to do with it. According to 20/20, you could stick the entire world's population in Texas and it would be less population-dense than New York. Thus, the snowstorms in the east tend to effect more people than the snowstorms in less populated areas.

I just got home from my sisters and she showed me the photos from their skiing vacation in Salzburg. It snowed the whole time - and the pictures are more or less similar to the ones in the link - with about 5' of snow on the roofs. They had about 40 inches of snow just during that week. Then on Sunday when they had to leave it had stopped snowing, you had the most beautiful blue sky and sunshine. Isn't that mean?
Nevertheless Kamilla enjoyed the week. She was in a skiing course and made 3rd place in the skiing race on Friday. She got a nice bronce colored medal and a certificate.

We didn't get much snow in Little Rock - only a light dusting of the ground - but it's our first snowfall in a winter that has seen temperatures more like late spring!Originally posted by Samanthasmom:
I think the same,, My goodness its just snow!!! Its like the world is comming to the end, I keep walking past the TV and saying OMG its just snow!!! what is the big deal!!!
Unfortunately, other parts of the state did get it much worse, and there were seven deaths. While some may not consider these deaths as important as soldiers', I'm sure their families are just as devastated.
And since the storm did break weather records dating back to the 1800s, I would definitely rate it as a "big deal"
